Day 2: Tokyo-Osaka

Returned from rooftop onsen around 1am and hit the sack. Didn’t shower (as they recommend) in order to keep the mineral salts on my skin overnight. Strolled over to Haneda airport for my lunchtime JAL flight to Osaka. Flew first class just to try it out, only $100 more than business and with superior airport access and fast tracking it was more than worth it, not to mention the suck-up factor. And I really do love row 1. Well not on the A380 but generally, lol…

An even better view of Fuji-san today!

Hotel is great, room with a city view on level 22 but I’ll head to level 33 tonight to one of the rooftop venues. But first, I’m on a mission - to source as many packets of Hokka Beaver beer snacks (original flavour) as I can. I lucked out with 46 packets from the only outlet in Osaka. Definitely beats schlepping all the way to the factory in Kanazawa. Osaka post office was conveniently located in the same building so half of them are already winging their way home to Club Young Street. That only took a full hour but gosh the Japanese are so helpful. Even with my shit Nihon-go.

Back to the hotel now, it’s started to sprinkle so I’ll probably stay in tonight and see what’s on offer at one of the hotel’s eight dining options. All I am hearing on arrival to level 33 is Aussie accents FFS, but there’s GG here so it’s good enough for tonight! No onsen on site, but my room has a deep traditional Japanese bath so that’s for me. Not to mention, all the fun I am having just using the toilet, LOL. Those Japanese, they know things…
